GGRMS May 30, 2025 w/ The Fleeting Light of Love and Grief

On a hot and sweaty night, the last Friday that the month of May in the year 2025 would ever see, our two radio heroes, Oncle Ian and Prince Palu, reconvene in the CJLO DJ booth for another exciting two hours in the ongoing adventures of The Go-Go Radio Magic Show.

In the first hour they present all new music from a list of show favourites, Ty Segall, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Together Pangea, Last Waltzon, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Safe Mind, BLUCHICKN, Stereolab, PyPy, Daniel Romano, Sharp Pins and Drugdealer w/ Weyes Blood.

Then, as if that was not enough, they are joined in the second hour by The Fleeting Light of Love and Grief, the latest music project from Montréal icon, Roy Vucino, and the first music project for his partner, Lydia Wener. A blending of a myriad of sounds and styles - Krautrock, electro-pop, Shoegaze, Türkü, psych-funk - using a wide assortment of instruments - including, but not limited to, electric & acoustic guitars, bağlama, duduk, tambourine, shells, bells, wood block synthesizers, bass, saxophone, theremin, stylophone. The FLoLaG create an ambient sound so thick you’d swear that it is lifting you off the ground and floating you around the room, to infinity and beyond.

In addition to hearing the origin story of this very unique duo, they also present the live session they recorded in the famed CJLO Studio (aka The Oven) and treat us to a sampling of some of the music and musicians who inspired this most excellent musical journey.

Tune in, turn on, FREAK OUT!
