GGRMS January 30, 2026

As the Polar Vortex continued to descend upon Montréal and keep the city in a deep freeze, our radio heroes, Oncle Ian and Prince Palu, braved the elements to deliver another two-hour, full weekly dose of #RadioMagic. On top of being in service for all the dear listeners, they saw it as a good trial run for the upcoming Taverne Tour, which is less than a fortnight away, in the battle between frigid air and hot rock ‘n’ roll.

Fortunately you don’t have to worry about such things to enjoy this latest episode. Grab a cup of coffee, get under your favourite blanket and melt into the music of Physical Congas, Railcard, Special Friend, The Ammonites, SHOPFIRES, Daniel Romano’s Outfit, Langhorne Slim, Gold Star, GUV, Tony Molina, Julian Never, Prism Shores, Possible Humans, Tombstones In Their Eyes, Bob Weir, Tucker Zimmerman, Hard Working Americans, Wallice, The Strokes, rocket rules, Quatro, Red Mass, The Dirty Tricks, Hot Garbage and Jerry Leger.

For those playing along at home, the punchline to the joke, “What had four wheels and flies?” is a garbage truck. Also the date for the Hot Garbage show at Taverne Tour that was never circled back to is Feb 12 at Le Belmont w/ Protomartyr + Yoo Doo Right + Alix Fernz. Get tickets here.

Sadly they were wrong about Prism Shores playing Taverne Tour. Chalk it up to either wishful thinking or crossing wires in their deteriorating old brains. This quartet of jangle-pop masters just played last week, when they opened for Sharp Pins at La Sotterrenea. That was a show that both Ian and Palu had hoped to catch but sadly neither were able to make. However, Prism Shores latest single, Kid Gloves, is out now and the full album, Softest Attack, will be coming April 10, 2026, so make sure to order your copy now to be ready for the next time they hit the stage.

Tune in. Turn on. FREAK OUT!
