It hard to believe but The Go-Go radio Magic Show has been ringing out over the CJLO airwaves for just over twenty two years!
We estimated that in that time we have produced roughly 1,100 episodes of The Go-Go Radio Magic show together, resulting in 2,200 hours of radio Magic. That number in reality however is much higher because Prince Palu spent the first two and a half years helming the board from Midnight until 5 AM. We’re not mathematicians or anything, but with Palu’s first two years not withstanding, that’s about 34,100 songs curated songs! Knowing our penchant for supporting local artists, we’ll take a guess that at least 33.3 percent of those songs were local, from Québec or Canadian, but I would argue it’s probably a lot more than that. Our archive has been streamed by listeners in over 50 countries.
As CJLO celebrates another funding drive, we ask you to donate what you can, every cent counts. CJLO 1690AM is a student run College / community station that relies on generous donations from listeners such as yourself, to maintain the station and cover equipment costs etc… If you hav ever tuned in to GGRMS, or have been a guest on the show or have had your music promoted on one of our episodes, why not consider making a donation over at CJLO’s website.
